Interdisciplinary Unit Experience
In the IDP
that had recently went on for the past month and the presentation last week it
was kind of a struggle in the beginning. To start off the English teacher
choose everyone’s groups and she decided to pick the topic for everyone. The topic
that the group I was in had gotten the disease title of Hepatitis and we had to
research on the topic to get a better understanding of what the disease is and
how you can catch it. One of the times during the process of the project it was
difficult for us to find out at what times we can meet up and work on the
project at someone’s house just because we couldn’t accommodate where and when
to meet up because some of the group members were out of town and some were
really busy. We stood after school working on the power point, the essay, and
practicing the slides to remember what each person has to say. We got
everything done and memorized the power point slide and turned in our essay; it
came to a Tuesday that we had to come dressed for the run through of the
presentation and I was nervous at first but then after I wasn’t at all because
the comments and suggestions that the class was giving the group and I were
really helpful and nice. Then it came to a Thursday the day of the showcase I was
really nervous I had butterflies in my stomach because I wasn’t ready for it,
the time came for us to present at 5:15 p.m. in the afternoon and when we
present we spoke clearly and everything went well, we asked the judges at the panels
if they had any questions to ask the group and they didn’t but they had very
nice comments to say about us and the presentation. On the day of the English
class I got the paper with the score we got on the IDP and I couldn’t be
happier because we got a perfect score on the project which is a 4.
